About

Mosaic Gardens at Willowbrook is part of Linc Housing’s initiative to create stronger neighborhoods by integrating 61 units of affordable housing with health resources and other local services.

Willowbrook is an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County near South Los Angeles. Mosaic Gardens at Willowbrook involved the assembly of County owned parcels and two separate private sellers for new construction. The building style harks back to the community’s agricultural past, abstractly recalling agrarian themes such as the farm house, shed, barn, and packing house.

Our partnerships with the L.A. County Department of Health Services and The People Concern allow us to serve 31 formerly homeless households with supportive housing. Additional units house families earning up to 60% of area median income.

Healthy building features and multifaceted services support resident health and wellbeing. Open stairs filled with natural light are conveniently located to encourage their use while elevators are physically tucked away. The buildings are interconnected by open space, with one central mail area to encourage walking and socialization. Community gardens are available for families to grow their own food. The community center includes a kitchen where residents can learn how to prepare healthful meals. A tot lot and small field provide children a safe environment for physical activity.

The large community facility includes multi-purpose space to house a variety of resident programs as well as a computer lab, fitness center, manager’s office, and private meeting rooms for service providers and case managers. Within a half mile of the property, residents of this community will have access to many amenities including an elementary school, public transportation, retail shopping, pharmacies, and other service opportunities. The property is within a mile of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Multi-Service Ambulatory Care Center and the Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Metro Station, both of which are undergoing major renovations.

Our partnerships with the L.A. County Department of Health Services and The People Concern allow us to serve 31 formerly homeless households with supportive housing. Additional units house families earning up to 60% of area median income.
