I NEED AFFORDABLE HOUSING. HOW DOES IT WORK?

Linc Housing apartments' rents are restricted to be affordable to residents whose income is considered low or extremely low compared to averages for the county in which the housing is located. For example, for 2022 in Los Angeles County, a family of four earning less than $59,550 would qualify for an apartment built for a household at 50% of area median income. The funding sources used to pay for construction of the housing determine what the income qualifications are to live in the building, and income limits will vary from property to property.

Sample Rents

If you are interested in an existing Linc Housing community, please contact the property management staff at that building to ask about available apartments, income requirements, and how to apply. Some properties may have waiting lists, and occasionally waiting lists may be full due to high demand. Search Linc communities using out interactive map on the the Communities page.

If you have a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, it is generally accepted at Linc's properties. Please contact the property management at the apartment community you are interested in to inquire about availability.

For a newly constructed Linc building, a lottery system is often used. A pre-application will be available for a window of time, then all pre-applications received by the deadline are entered into a lottery to determine the order in which they will be reviewed by property management for the available apartments. For the status of Linc apartments under construction, visit our Communities page.
If Linc's properties do not meet your needs, download the list of other affordable housing organizations in California below. Additionally, your local Housing Authority may provide more information, resources, and vacancy information for affordable housing in your community.

I'm experiencing homelessness. Where can I find help?

Dialing 211 is the quickest way to get information and direct resources if you are experiencing homelessness or are in need of other social services. In many communities, a Coordinated Entry System (CES) is in place to connect individuals/families with the best matching housing resources.

For Los Angeles County specifically, get more information in the link below. There are additional points of contact for CES in each of Los Angeles' eight Service Planning Areas.

Linc's supportive housing in Los Angeles County receives direct referrals through CES. If you are already working with an outreach worker or case manager, ask about the CES survey and follow up with them regarding available housing resources.
