 Surrounded by homes whose values nearly double the state’s average and located just minutes from one of Southern California’s most popular shopping and entertainment districts, the Village Heights Apartments has introduced a greater variety of housing options to one of California’s most exclusive real estate markets. Each of the units at Village Heights is reserved for families earning between fifty and sixty percent of the area median income. This partnership between the County of Orange, a private developer, and LINC Housing is also helping address the regional problem of overcrowding among renting households by offering larger units and affordable rents to the area’s large families. Our LINC Cares resident services program, which works to address residents’ social, educational, health, and financial needs by providing direct services and building partnerships with community-based agencies, has launched a number of its programs at Village Heights. LINC Cares organized its first health fair here, introducing the community’s families to locally available preventative services and health care options. LINC Cares is currently working to establish its third after school and tutoring site to serve Village Heights’ families. |
