JP MORGAN CHASE AWARDS LINC HOUSING $35,000 GRANT
TO SUPPORT AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS
LONG BEACH, Calif., Sept. 25, 2009 LINC Housing Corporation,
a nonprofit builder of affordable housing for families and seniors in
California, was recently awarded a $35,000 grant from JP Morgan Chase.
The funds are designated to support LINCs efforts to build more homes
for low- to moderate-income seniors, families and special needs populations
in California, with an emphasis on sustainable building practices.
With many of our usual funding sources hit hard by these challenging
economic times, grants like these are vital for our success, said Hunter
L. Johnson, LINC Housing president and CEO. JP Morgan Chase recognizes
the importance of ensuring all Californians have safe, decent and affordable
housing, and their grant will help us move our state in that
direction.
In addition to helping create more than 6,000 homes in 53 communities, LINC
Housing currently has four properties in construction with 10 more in predevelopment.
LINCs properties are known for excellent design, outstanding management and
life-enhancing services for its residents. This year, LINC celebrates 25 years of
service to families, seniors, and local governments helping to create sustainable
communities via new construction, acquisition and rehabilitation, and historic
preservation.
