LINC HOUSING CORPORATION KICKS OFF 2008 PODCAST SEASON
Award-Winning Notes from the Housing Studio Features Discussion
with Californias Housing Chief
LONG BEACH, Calif., (Jan. 31 2008) Just a few months after being
awarded the 2007 Excellence in Affordable Housing Communications
Award from The National Housing Conference, LINC Housing Corporation (LINC)
today launched the 2008 season of its monthly podcast. Notes from the
Housing Studio features reports on affordable housing news, discussions
with industry experts covering topical issues from a housing perspectives,
and information aimed at de-mystifying housing policy.
The kickoff show features an interview with Lynn Jacobs, director of
Californias Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
She discusses California Governor Arnold Schwarzeneggers efforts to
create a permanent source of funding for affordable housing. She provides
information on how others can participate in one of the regional discussions
to help find viable options and solutions for the states housing
dilemma. Host Hunter Johnson, LINC president and CEO, also talks with Dianne
Spaulding about recent activities at the Non-Profit Housing Association of
Northern California in the Regional Round Up. Other regular podcast features
include trivia, news and housing haiku.
When we launched Notes from the Housing Studio in 2006,
we had no idea it would have such an impact, said Johnson. From
the start, our goal has been to serve as a resource for the industry as well
as those who are interested in learning more about how affordable housing is
an integral part of successful communities. We hope to see housing at the top
of the political and social agendas this year, and we look forward to bringing
the latest news to our listeners.
