Barry
In Los Angeles County alone, more than 22,000 children are in foster care, and every year about 1,400 leave the system. Without meaningful intervention, many of these young people will become homeless or chronically unemployed within two to four years. The grand opening of The Palace in Long Beach means hope for some of these former foster youth. Barry, one of the first residents to move in, is so grateful to have this opportunity. Read More »

 
Betty
In March, Betty moved to SEASONS at Redondo Beach from another senior living facility where she had lived for two years. Her daughter, Kathy, was so grateful that an apartment became available for Betty at SEASONS. “Her needs were met at her previous home, but from our point of view, we could tell she just wasn’t happy,” shared Kathy. Linda
Since 2009, Linda has had legal custody of her eleven-year-old granddaughter, Charlie. Charlie’s parents were not in the position to care for her, and Linda was determined to do what she could to make sure Charlie’s life was stable, even though she herself is on a fixed income. Because of the affordable rents at the Village at Beechwood, Linda and Charlie are able to live comfortably. Read More »

 
Michael
Before Michael came to live at the brand new SEASONS at Compton apartment community, he rented a room in a house that was less than healthy. “I had to fight away rats that tried to get our food,” he said. Michael, a 57-year-old resident who has developmental disabilities, is so grateful to have found a clean, safe and affordable place to live. Read More »

 
Tommy
Tommy is a ten-year-old student in LINC’s after-school program at the Village at Beechwood Apartments in Lancaster. Lately, it’s rare to catch him without a smile on his face thinking about the next school year.
