Corporate and Group Volunteering with LINC

In addition to one-time and ongoing volunteer positions for individuals, LINC provides opportunities for corporations or other groups to support our affordable housing communities through customized volunteer projects. Your company may also support LINC through financial contributions, event sponsorships, and/or product donation.

Group volunteer opportunities include hosting a social or educational event, such as a hosting a holiday party or book fair. Or your group can help with property beautification project like a community garden or painting!

Recent projects include:

Brilliant Earth: The general manager and a sales representative of Brilliant Earth Jewelry from West Hollywood helped host Mosaic Garden at Huntington Park’s back-to-school celebration. Volunteers enjoyed assisting students with painting pencil boxes. Thanks to Brilliant Earth, 10 students received backpacks full of pens, pencil pouches, erasers, binders, folders, markers and paper for the new school year!

Cummins Filtration: Fourteen territory sale managers from Cummins Filtration worked at SEASONS at La Palma for their day of service at LINC Housing. These fun-spirited men from all over the western part of the country painted fire lane curbs and benches. They also deep cleaned an apartment in preparation for a new resident!


Circle K International: Six students from California State University Dominguez Hills helped paint railings and walkways around LINC’s SEASONS at Redondo Beach senior community. These students’ enthusiasm has brought them to SEASONS at Redondo Beach twice already as they look to form an ongoing partnership with LINC Housing.

Mount Sinai Baptist Church: Five volunteers from the Women’s Ministry hosted a therapeutic collage activity with 18 residents at Lorena Heights Apartments. Thanks to our volunteers who supplied all art materials including craft boxes, picture frames, construction paper, and stickers. Residents spent a relaxing afternoon creating and making new friends!


Simpson Gumpertz & Heger: Employee volunteers and friends celebrated SGH’s 60 years of operation by coordinating tower building competitions with students of City Gardens Apartments in Santa Ana. Students enjoyed an afternoon of building towers with paper as well as noodles and marshmallows to compete for top tower height and candy weight held!

City HeART: Lou and Kevin, local Long Beach volunteer artists kicked-off a three-month art class partnership with CityHeART! Residents at SEASONS at The Hoover in Whittier enjoyed drawing, painting and learning new techniques!


UCI Alpha Phi Omega: Alpha Phi Omega members from the University of California, Irvine, helped LINC Cares and property staff serve 14 women at SEASONS at La Palma Apartments for its annual Mother’s Day Tea Party. The beautiful English tea party included finger sandwiches, fruits, scones, macaroons, cheeses, custards, and of course tea!

Paycom Orange County: Employees donated Easter baskets for seniors at LINC’s SEASONS at La Palma, which they received at a lovely Easter brunch. Thanks Paycom Orange County for continually supporting holiday celebrations at our Orange County properties through food and gift donations!


U.S. Bank: LINC welcomed top Southern California leadership from U.S. Bank to help build a lovely community garden at SEASONS at Compton. Employee volunteers built five oak plant beds for residents to use and planted an orange tree. Residents joined in for some crafty fun, decorating pots and planting succulents. Thanks to U.S. Bank for your hard work and funding the community Compton Community Garden installation and supplies needed!

USC Alumni Day of SCervice: LINC Housing was proud to host one of the 120 world-wide USC Alumni day of #SCervice projects! Eleven USC Alumni and family participated by cleaning and painting LINC’s Bartlett Hill Manor in Los Angeles’s Chinatown. It was a great time of networking, hard work, and fun. Thanks USC alumni for sharing your Saturday with LINC Housing and for all the great support!


Molina Healthcare: Six dedicated volunteers from Molina’s Helping Hands cleaned, painted, and shared some fresh fruit with thankful local residents at LINC’s Bartlett Hill Manor. LINC is grateful for Molina Healthcare’s ongoing support of so many of our residents and apartment buildings throughout the Los Angeles area!

MOVE: Student-run organization, Marshall Outreach and Volunteer Entrepreneurs (MOVE) from the USC Marshall School of Business spent their day of service at LINC’s Bartlett Hill Manor. With the generous financial and volunteer support of MOVE, 20 volunteers painted railings around the property. It was a perfect day for painting and team work. Thanks for helping beautify Bartlett Hill Manor!


Students from the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) Chapter at South East High School hosted a health awareness fair at Mosaic Gardens at Huntington Park. The 11 student volunteers created informative bulletin boards and shared a bilingual presentation about diseases including Sepsis, AIDS, Alzheimer’s, Postural Tachycardia Syndrome, Parry Romberg Syndrome, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and Chronic Respiratory Disease. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with LINC residents!

BBVA Compass: LINC welcomed seven volunteers from the Ontario Commercial Office for a BBVA Compass day of service at LINC’s Pepperwood Apartments in Rancho Cucamonga. Volunteers provided a fun, interactive, and candy-filled Halloween party for more than fifty residents! Activities included an interactive story where the kids discovered the benefits of storing money in safe locations, and all the children received banks, pencil pouches, pens, and calculators. BBVA staff also led carnival games and judged a costume contest. Thanks BBVA Compass Ontario for your enthusiastic involvement with the kids’ activities and important financial lessons!

Molina Healthcare: Eight dedicated Molina Healthcare volunteers assembled, decorated, and distributed bags for the SEASONS at Compton food bank program. Molina volunteers and LINC staff had a wonderful time putting together the packages for our residents. This great partner also served at LINC’s corporate office wrapping donated holiday gifts for children at LINC’s City Gardens Apartments and Mosaic Gardens at Huntington Park communities.

CSUF Beta Alpha Psi: LINC hosted enthusiastic volunteers from Cal State Fullerton’s Delta Beta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, an international honor organization for financial information students. The 22 student volunteers assisted with painting iron rails throughout City Gardens Apartments and creating community resource posters.

Cintas: Six committed Cintas Corporation volunteers assisted with a beautification project at Pepperwood Apartments in Rancho Cucamonga. Sprucing up the fitness center with a new coat of paint was Cintas’ third time serving with LINC!

Molina Healthcare: Five dedicated Molina volunteers assisted with a beautification painting project at SEASONS at Redondo Beach. LINC’s senior residents enjoyed seeing the volunteers lend a hand and commented on how the new paint made a huge difference at their community.

Boeing: LINC hosted 12 volunteers, including Boeing employees and their friends and families at the Village at Beechwood in Lancaster for the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Apple Day of Service. The hardworking Boeing volunteers planted lavender and rosemary in the central courtyard and painted a sustainability-themed mural with the children from the after-school program.

Opus Bank: Enthusiastic Opus Bank volunteers got their creative juices flowing to assist with LINC’s new sustainability mural at City Gardens Apartments in Santa Ana! The volunteer team of 11 worked with LINC staff and youth from the property in to bring this inspirational piece of community art to life. Opus generously donated a healthy lunch for the students and staff. The event was also sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Apple Day of Service.

BBVA Compass: LINC Cares was pleased to host 11 BBVA Compass employees at our after-school programs during the company’s 2014 Week of Service. LINC’s youngest residents at City Gardens Apartments in Santa Ana and Mosaic Gardens at Huntington Park enjoyed the extra support BBVA Compass volunteers provided for homework help, reading activities, and arts and crafts.

Cintas: Nine Cintas employees came back for a second volunteer project with LINC, hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at Pepperwood Apartments in Rancho Cucamonga for 40 children.

UCSD Alpha Phi Omega: Fifteen volunteers from UC San Diego’s chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service club, came together to paint railings and red curbs at Arbor Village in San Diego.

UCI Alpha Phi Omega: LINC staff and volunteers from UC Irvine’s chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service club, came together to assemble furniture for some of the new residents at Mosaic Gardens at Huntington Park. The furniture and other necessary household items are part of LINC’s new “Welcome Home” program, which is focused on helping to make each new apartment a “home” for formerly homeless residents.

Cintas: Volunteers from Cintas installed raised-bed gardens for senior residents at SEASONS at Ontario. Two of the gardens will be used as subplots for individual residents and one will house an educational garden where our RSC will teach the residents about organic, edible gardening.

San Jacinto Assembly of God Church: More than one hundred residents attended the Holiday Celebration at Terracina Apartments in San Jacinto. With additional support from the San Jacinto City Council, church volunteers facilitated an event including a holiday meal, cookie decorating, crafts, family pictures, face painting, gifts for the children, and more.

Agape Community Church: Agape Community Church in Lancaster hosted a Christmas party and sponsored Christmas toys for children at The Village at Beechwood.

Law Offices of Tina Locklear: Tina Locklear and her associate Scott Reece conducted legal workshops for LINC residents including seniors at SEASONS at San Juan Capistrano and plan to visit other LINC communities. Tina and Scott covered bankruptcy, wills and trusts, fraud protection, and fair debt collection practices.

Enterprise Community Partners: LINC hosted volunteers from Enterprise for a work day and Halloween party at SEASONS at La Palma. They spent the morning and early afternoon planting a new garden in the courtyard and re-painting the community’s fire lanes before the Halloween celebration which included decorating mini pumpkins and a build-your-own.


Ameriprise Financial: Seniors at SEASONS II at Lakewood participated in a course on the four cornerstones of financial welfare from volunteers Amber Johns and Jermaine Jamison of Ameriprise Financial Services. Their financial workshop included tips on planning for retirement and funding options for end of life care.
