Position: Youth Education Volunteer
Objectives: To keep kids
safe, help working families improve their students academic progress,
and provide enjoyable recreational activities to the youth of our
communities
Reports to: ASP Facilitator & Volunteer
Coordinator
|
Major Responsibilities:
|
| 1. |
With the guidance of an ASP Facilitator assist in:
|
| |
a. Set up & clean up of facility
|
| |
b. Providing homework support and 1-to-1 tutoring
|
| |
c. Organizing recreational, computer, and arts &
crafts activities
|
| |
d. Monitoring student behavior
|
| |
e. Mentoring and being a positive role model
|
| 2. |
This position requires the volunteer to supervise minors
|
|
Qualifications:
|
| 1. |
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age (exceptions to
be made at volunteer coordinators discretion)
|
| 2. |
Previous experience in facilitating activities for school age
children is welcome but not necessary
|
| 3. |
Enthusiasm, patience, a sense of fun, concern for safety,
and a love of children is essential
|
|
Requirements:
|
| 1. |
Attend 1 hour orientation
|
| 2. |
Attend bi-annual workshop/celebrations
|
| 3. |
Duration of commitment varies
|
| 4. |
Comply with policies and procedures associated with the
LINC Housing Volunteer Program
