LINC Cares Volunteer Opportunities
 

Position: Youth Education Volunteer

Objectives: To keep kids safe, help working families improve their student’s academic progress, and provide enjoyable recreational activities to the youth of our communities

Reports to: ASP Facilitator & Volunteer Coordinator

Major Responsibilities:
1.   With the guidance of an ASP Facilitator assist in:
  a.   Set up & clean up of facility
  b.   Providing homework support and 1-to-1 tutoring
  c.   Organizing recreational, computer, and arts & crafts activities
  d.   Monitoring student behavior
  e.   Mentoring and being a positive role model
2.   This position requires the volunteer to supervise minors
Qualifications:
1.   Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age (exceptions to be made at volunteer coordinators discretion)
2.   Previous experience in facilitating activities for school age children is welcome but not necessary
3.   Enthusiasm, patience, a sense of fun, concern for safety, and a love of children is essential
Requirements:
1.   Attend 1 hour orientation
2.   Attend bi-annual workshop/celebrations
3.   Duration of commitment varies
4.   Comply with policies and procedures associated with the LINC Housing Volunteer Program

 
Frequency/Time:
Ideally once a week for three hours from 2:30/3pm to 5:30/6pm.
