Class Title: Data Entry Operator
Position Status: Part Time

General Nature & Scope of Work

Reporting to the Director of Resident Services, the Data Entry Operator is responsible for hands- on assistance of the LINC Cares data management system and assesses, via data, the need for additional social, education, recreational programs and technical assistance at LINC residential communities. Guides the work of interns and volunteers in the implementation of LINC Cares evaluation strategies. Maintains strong relationship with residents and becomes familiar member of the community, works closely with third party property managers, as well as other LINC departments. Establishes and maintains rapport with overall community. Will be responsible to ensure the integrity of the agency’s data.

Illustrative Examples of Work/Essential Functions

•   Work in collaborative and productive partnerships with staff, property managers and residents to implement programs at various properties
•   Report monthly activities and expenditures, prepare written reports and correspondence on program reporting
•   Enter data into excel sheets and databases by inputting text based and numerical information from source documents
•   Compile, verify accuracy and sort information according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry
•   Convert, store, scan, and print documents, when needed
•   Respond to requests for information and access relevant files
•   Oversee work performance of and coordinate volunteers/interns as identified for specific projects
•   Analyze various data submissions and reports to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
•   Assist in design survey instruments that effectively capture LINC Cares impact in the areas of promoting good health, positive social development, strong academic performance for low-income children, community development, etc.
•   Comply with data integrity and security policies; maintain appropriate confidentiality and discretion in the disclosure of information to various internal and external parties
•   Be part of the continuous improvement strategy team
•   Typically be present for events, greeting residents, working with parents, seniors and children
•   Develop and maintain rapport with community
•   Perform other duties as assigned
•   Represent LINC Cares at local collaborative networks

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of:
•   Proficiency in the use of personal computers and related software applications
•   Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
•   Experience working with volunteers
•   Experience working with foodbanks
Skill Level:
•   Superior writing and communication skills
•   Organization skills, with an ability to stay focused on assigned tasks
•   Excellent attention to detail & typing accuracy
•   Excellent at working with culturally diverse set of community-based organizations and residents
•   Excellent at implementing services programs and working on a team
•   Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other departments, residents, property management, city staff, program partners, key stakeholders, and the public
Ability to:
•   Maintain appropriate confidentiality and discretion
•   Oversee performance of volunteer staff
•   Ability to quickly learn data techniques and procedures
•   Manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
•   Communicate via email, telephone and in writing on a frequent basis
•   Work well independently, in teams, and with partnerships
•   Drive a 15’ U-Haul truck
•   Work a flexible schedule, including travel to sites
•   Possess vehicle and appropriate auto insurance coverage and a valid California’s Driver’s license

Education & Experience

A combination of education and related experience may substitute for education requirements.

•   Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in statistical computing, data analysis, business administration, marketing, or related field as well as experience in program evaluation, assessment, data collection and analysis.
•   Experience interacting in a culturally diverse community
•   Preferred data entry work experience in Data Entry or Office Clerk position
•   Preferred experience serving a community in one or more of the following areas: community organizing, senior services, social services, gerontology, recreation, or youth and family.

•   Work is performed in an office environment and in the community, under pressure and requires the ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities and demands.
•   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, twist, carry from one location to another, kneel, crouch and sit while using a keyboard.
•   Travel by various modes of private and commercial transportation within the region may be required.
•   The work environment will usually be in a recreational room or common area. The noise level is usually moderate but will vary depending on activity participating in.
•   Required to lift up to at least 30 pounds.
