General Nature & Scope of Work

Under the general supervision of the Resident Services Resource Manager, the Community Involvement Coordinator provides volunteer, third-party partner coordination and community partnership relationship management for the Resident Services department. This position works alongside Asset Management, Property Management and Resident Services Coordinators to ensure effective community events and service delivery. Collaborates with Corporate Development staff on partnerships, communications, and funding opportunities in relation to Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Supports timely inter- and intra- department workflow regarding information, events, program coordination, volunteer resource management, documents, and databases. Maintains appropriate confidentiality and discretion in the disclosure of information to various internal and external parties. Creates work plan, composes correspondence, screens and directs calls, prepares expense reports.

Illustrative Examples of Work/Essential Functions

•   Controls and coordinates documents, workflow and services; monitors volunteer and third-party partner’s adherence to processes and procedures as established by agreements;
•   Works in collaborative and productive partnership with staff and property managers;
•   Assists in coordination of documents used in volunteer and partnership processes;
•   Ensures on-site activities are in accordance to LINC Cares policies and procedures;
•   Services database processing steps in Raiser’s Edge;
•   Responsible for the implementation of LINC's Welcome Home Program which provides household goods to LINC residents who have experienced homelessness;
•   Facilitates recognition activities for corporations and service groups;
•   Oversees, plans and implements group events;
•   Initiates and tracks communications with LINC volunteers, prospective volunteers and third-party support organizations;
•   Recruits prospective volunteers and performs outreach to potential community partners including volunteer websites, businesses, schools, civic organizations and religious institutions;
•   Assists in the coordination of LINC/LINC Cares participation at community events;
•   Researches funding sources associated with potential and existing community partners;
•   Researches current trends in corporate volunteer programs and potential future corporate volunteer partners;
•   Writes copy for marketing material, social media posts, website updates, and policy associated with group volunteer management;
•   Reports on outcome of community stakeholder involvement associated with LINC Cares and its volunteer program and community partnerships;
•   Researches and identifies community partnerships for new affordable housing communities;
•   Composes correspondence and coordinates work flow; coordinates meetings and travel as needed;
•   Work with LINC staff and external partners to develop resident empowerment and civic engagement programs at LINC communities;
•   Assists in planning resident service events as needed;
•   Special projects and other duties as assigned;

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of:
•   Writing and grammar skills, mathematics
•   Methods of managing paper process flow, coordination and control of documents
•   MS Office programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPointStrong demonstrated diplomatic acumen
•   General concepts of volunteerism and corporate community involvement
•   Basic functionality of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems
•   Background in health, wellbeing, sustainability, adult education and youth education a plus
•   Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge
•   Knowledge of housing and homeless services organizations a plus
•   Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices a plus
Skill Level:
•   Superior social skills for communicating and meeting key corporate stakeholders and donor prospects
•   Superior writing and communication skills
•   Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other departments, city staff, city officials, and the public
•   Highly organized and able to manage complex projects and paper process flow
•   Able to work with multiple priorities and deadlines
•   Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software applications; Raiser’s Edge a plus
•   Familiarity with basic photography, graphic design and photo editing software a plus
Ability to:
•   Efficiently organize complex projects, track and maintain documents, data files, and information
•   Set priorities in fast-paced environment
•   Work effectively with others in fast pace, innovative and team environment

Education & Experience

A combination of education and related experience may substitute for education requirements.

•   A bachelor’s degree and
•   2 years of experience working/interning in a resident service, volunteer management or office environment
