Paul Nowatka is Vice President of Nowatka & Associates, a
public relations and consulting firm to individuals, businesses
and political campaigns. A retired Councilman with the City of
Torrance, he served on numerous boards and committees including
the Workforce investment Network (WiN) Policy Board as chairman,
and the League of California Cities. Prior to this elected position,
he was Torrance Community Services Commissioner. Paul is a Retired
Police Lieutenant, having 33 years of honorable service with the
Torrance Police Department.
He has many years of experience in city and regional planning, serving
as a director of the Southern California Association of Governments and
President of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments. He has been a
faculty member of the Simon Wiesenthal Centers Tools for
Tolerance program and in addition to LINC Housing, is an active
board member with numerous community organizations including the Salvation
Army, Torrance Education Foundation, University of Southern California
Delinquency Control Institute and the Torrance Symphony Association, of which
he is the President. Following the attacks upon the World Trade Center in 2001,
Paul served with the Salvation Army at Ground Zero for two weeks supporting
recovery workers. He acted in a four play series based upon 9/11 in which he
portrayed various U.S. Statesmen.
