As Controller, Karen Maeshima manages LINC’s staff of property, development,
and general accountants. Karen assists in the implementation of effective financial
strategies and reports for LINC, its related affiliates, and its portfolio of
affordable housing assets. She oversees LINC’s accounting operations,
including budgeting, auditing and tax preparation, payroll, accounts payable and
receivable, general ledger and financial reporting. She also oversees the
pre-development and construction draw processes, and works in conjunction with
Asset Management to review financial performance, budgeting and reporting for
LINC’s operating portfolio.

Karen brings a unique perspective and expertise to her work at LINC. She is
a Certified Public Accountant who also has an extensive background in real
estate investment and affordable housing finance. As Assistant Vice President
of Investments with Weyerhaeuser Venture Company, Karen managed a sizeable
portfolio of real estate investments, implementing innovative methods of
financial modeling and analysis to maximize revenues through property sales.
As Chief Financial Officer for Coastal Equities, Inc., Karen created new
methods of account monitoring that produced tangible improvements to the
process of securing financing for real estate acquisition.
Karen is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking and skiing with husband
and children. She and her family are also baseball fans who are looking
forward to cheering on the Angels to their next championship.
