Ian Nevarez
Volunteer Coordinator

 

 
Ian is a LISC AmeriCorps member serving with LINC Housing Corporation’s resident services program, LINC Cares. Ian is currently developing a tutoring program for LINC’s communities which will offer children 1-on-1 individual tutoring sessions, an ongoing assessment of academic history and educational progress, and a research-based curriculum geared toward building their skills in math, reading, and language arts. Ian is also helping to coordinate and support resident services’ special events, assist in the continual development of resident resource guides, and recruit and organize volunteers for LINC Cares programming.

Before joining LINC, Ian worked in the community as a life guard/recreation leader, loan counselor, and restaurant manager. He is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, where he obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing.

Ian enjoys writing, surfing, traveling, going to Dodgers games, and gardening.
