As LINCs Volunteer Resource Manager, Ian Nevarez gives community members the opportunity
to serve in youth education, senior health and wellbeing, and administrative functions. He
oversees recruitment, screening, orientations, and recognition of volunteers for their many
contributions to our organization. Ian was instrumental in the development of our industry-leading
volunteer program and his work continues to expand LINCs effort toward providing affordable
housing and resident services throughout the state.

Ian is a recognized trainer and consultant in volunteer resource management within the community
development sector and has designed and facilitated workshops on the subject for national organizations
since 2007. He also manages LINC Volunteers, our in-house social enterprise that provides workshops,
management, and consulting to nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses that are looking for
community solutions to the challenges they face in todays tough economy. Ian lives by the motto
that a life is only as important as the impact it has on other lives.
Prior to becoming full-time staff, Ian served with LINC Cares as a LISC AmeriCorps member where he
laid the foundation for LINCs volunteer program as well as designed and implemented a tutoring
system for after-school programs. Ian has also worked in the community as a life guard/recreation
leader, loan counselor, and restaurant manager. He is a graduate of California State University, Long
Beach, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in
creative writing.
Ian enjoys writing, surfing, traveling, going to Dodger games, and gardening.
