Brenda says LINC Housing gave her a spark of hope after she retired and moved to California. Brenda missed her old routines and needed a new purpose. She found her new calling when she moved into the LINC senior community in 2016. Working with her Resident Services Coordinator, Kellie, she helped launch the community newspaper, The Hoover Seasonal, and knew she was back on the right path. Now, Brenda and her team keep residents informed about community activities and events.

Brandy says she likes lots of things about living at City Gardens – her apartment has a nice big living room and she loves the After-School Program. but her most “favoritest” thing is how safe she feels. She can play with her friends outside until it’s nearly dark and her parents don’t need to worry.

Bryant says living here helps to keep him organized. He fears that if his Mom and Dad had to move out to anywhere else, he wouldn’t get all his homework done on time and would always be in detention. Bryant wants to go to college when he’s older and study paleontology, engineering or video games – he’s not sure yet.

Erik says that if he didn’t live at City Gardens, he wouldn’t be able to come to the After-School Program, and if he didn’t come to the program, he wouldn’t be able to work on his reading. Erik really likes his house, where he lives with his Mom and Dad and sister.

She even drinks more water and eats healthier meals because of what she has learned through LINC Cares.
